XR technologies are revolutionizing the training industry to augment the shortage of skill set across various industries, especially the aviation industry. With new generation of employees, the traditional training methodologies cannot deliver the desired quantity and quality as demanded by the industry. At the same time the new generation (Gen-Z) is more of learner-centric than of trainer-centric. This shift in the methodology of ‘training’ to ‘learning’, is possible only through the adaption of technology that address the gap.
In the current scenario of remote learning encouraged by the regulators due to COVID-19, the application of XR technology is more relavent. Simulations and gaming replicating the real-world scenarios that significantly enhances the quality of training in a shorter period which could eventually result in cost savings for the companies.


Cabin safety contributes to the prevention of accidents and incidents, protection of the aircraft’s occupants, through proactive safety management, including hazard identification, safety risk management and the increase of survivability in the event of an emergency situation. Traditionally, the role of cabin crew members focused on the evacuation of an aircraft in the event of an accident.
However, cabin crew members also play an important proactive role in managing safety, which can contribute to the prevention of incidents and accidents. Training is necessary to prepare cabin crew members to conduct their safety related duties and responsibilities during normal day-to-day flights and essential to enable them to recognize and act on any abnormal or emergency situation.


In the modern, complex world of aviation, it is simply impossible to train for a successful outcome of an almost infinite number of possible abnormal or emergency situations. The challenge is to successfully equip cabin crew to handle the challenges of modern operations with a move from prescribed task-based training to competency based training.
